MOSCOW
After the success in Bellingham we couldn't have been more
excited to play Moscow, ID, because of the previous successes Bacon and
Egg and Two Year Touqe had there. Volumen had never played Moscow
before, but it's not more than 4-5 hours from Missoula, so we were
psyched to build a new link in the rawk chain near us.
Sadly, this was not to be. We showed up at Mikey's Gyros and had
some realy damned tasty gyros and enjoyed some much-missed
Internet. We had heard that we'd be playing with a Noise band
from Los Angeles, but I guess they ended up playing Boise
instead. We were lucky to be contacted by Moscow local,
Dutch. Dutch helped us organize the show and even offered us a
place to crash afterwards.
We showed up at his pad early and watched "The Search for Animal Chin"
on VHS. Ahh... skateboarding. Remember when you were goofy
and cute?
After the skate vids we drove back to Mikey's Gyros and setup. We
got a little nervous because it looked like no one was coming
down. In fact, I think 8 people paid to get in. The folks
we met, though, were pretty rad, so that was good news. I think
it might have been Spring Break and Moscow is a town of two
colleges. At least, that's what we kept telling ourselves at 2am
crying into our Kong-sized pizza in a hotel room that looked like an
appartment in a Quinton Tarrantino movie. Heh.
