BELLINGHAM

We took our sweet time getting on the road to Bellingham.  We stopped in at "The Unknown" a rad-ass skate shop in Marysville and they bought buckets of our merch!  Yeah!  Go there and buy shirts and CDs and whatnot because we command it!

I'm not going to write about the rest of our day.  It was one of the worst days of my life and I need to put some space between it and me.

Needless to say, when we pulled into  Bellingham we were thouroughly demoralized and pretty much on the verge of nervous breakdown.  We had some decent food in a pool hall and checked out the venue (Chiribins).  As you might have heard, The 3B is no longer operating so Bellingham is struggling to find it's new home for rock.  Chiribins is doing a pretty great job of filling this space.  It's a fancy restaurant that hosts rock afterhours.  Oh yeah, you can get a 40 ounce bottle of PBR there and they give you a little bucket with ice to keep it cold.  Good thing I was designated driver because that sounds like trouble.

The first band that played was The Llamas and they were great!  They were somewhat reminiscent of Spoon and that made everyone smile.  It was great, interesting pop music.  The singer played a right-handed Danelectro guitar upside down.  I had never seen anyone do that before.  It blew my mind.

Once again, we got the cherry 2nd spot.  Thanks guys!  The quarters are pretty tight in that joint, but we rocked as hard as our confined space allowed.  It was like playing a rock show in bumper cars because we kept ramming into each other and popping each other's strings out of alignment.

No-Fi slayed again!  Bob really got into it this time, even falling victim to Mark's hypnosis during that song about graves.  It was cool.  We sold buckets of merch and made a killing at the door.  It was easily our most successful Bellingham show ever!

Stanwood totally represented!  Stanwood is the town where Bacon grew up.  I would say that 20 people drove up from Stanwood for the show.  Yeah!  Also in attendence were Juice and Matt from The Narrows.  There were also some Missoula fok, not the least of which was Diamond Dave.  He even let us crash at his pad in the boondocks after the show.  Hoorah to Dave and his poor roommate for their hospitality!

So, this day ended better than others and our sanity was preserved, for now.
