San Diego

Ahhh San Diego... Well I think I speak for everyone when I say we were completely delirious on our trip to San Diego. We were up late the night before with Arlo.We got up fairly early and hit the road. During the drive I got a kick outta singin' "Do you know the way to San Diego. La La La La San Diego." You know that Dionne Warwick song abut San Jose...I just substituted San Diego for San Jose. Pretty ingenious eh? So we arrive in San Diego and we're all super tired and giddy. Absolutely everything is funny at this point. It took us forever to find where we were supposed to go. Finally we get a hold of this dude Steve who got us the show. He hooks us up with a meal at this place he works at called The Surf n' Turf. It was pretty sweet! You cook your own meals on the grill i.e. steak or seafood. After dinner we took off to the venue. Actually I wouldn't call this place a venue at all. It was more like a one bedroom apartment converted into a bar with no stage. The Boardroom as they call it may have been the worst place we've ever played. They didn't run a door, so we didn't get paid again...five people could fit in the place if you were lucky...oh and did I mention that it was small and we didn't get paid. There were some bright points though...don't get me wrong. Marcus (a friend of Bacon's who works at Sector 9 skateboards) showed up with a bunch of his friends. Marcus is a great guy...he even got two of our songs in the new Sector 9 video.  Also Jeff from the band Fuck showed up. So after we played Jeff, Marcus and the crew went to a house party. It was definitely a good end to a shitty show. They gave us a place to crash and shower. The following morning we stopped off at Sector 9 to say bye to Marcus. He gave us a tour of the facilities. It was rad...we got to see how they make the skateboards and what not. At the end of the tour he loaded us up with hats, shirts, videos, boards, etc. It was a good end to a so-so visit to San Diego.
